Shot taken hand held on a windy day. We left the tripod in the car. I should have known better.

We plan to go back to this location in a couple of months time. They have a beautiful Victorian walled garden there, it is amazing, even now.

Hi Ormina, that's a lovely photo.

Unless you're keen on having the full petal tips in there, have you considered cropping for a more abstract or detailed result?

The flower looks like glowing from within. Cropping, like Gordon said, might even bring out a more impressive image...

Thanks guys I will give that a try, I had not thought about cropping any closer, but now you mention it. I like the idea of it. I will do it tomorrow with fresh eyes.

Cheers Ormina

Lovely shot ormina!!

Some images are best looked at in large size - I say this because I think that you have the center of the flower - the yellow piece - in crisp focus. That "depth" is subtle and sophisticated, but not easily seen in a small image.

That mesmerizing "halo effect" that the white backdrop offers to the yellow is not fully appreciated when the image is small.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that I think the image is even better than it seems here.

The colors are wonderful - can almost smell it :-)

Cheers!
