Ok mate, thanks for the reply :)

How do you find the 100mm lens for photographing insects and things? do you find it difficult?

Do you have a gallery anywhere with all your macro shots with the 100mm lens?

I'm relly trying to figure what would best suit me, a prime lens or a zoom but from what i've read most zooms aren't true macro lenses.

It took me a while to learn how to use this lens and I am still learning. Its shallow depth of field at large magnifications and effective length (160mm) on my 400D make it a little challenging to use hand held and without flash. Having said that it is not very difficult to use and I find it quite versatile.

I am not that big on insect photos. I like plant and flowers better and unfortunately I do not have much to show in terms of insect photography. I do have a spot on the web with closeups. You can find it here You'll find mostly rubbish there and I probably should not be publishing it on the net but since you asked...
