It's a crop taken with the D7000 @ 500mm, 1/250th sec, F9, 500 ISO & onboard flash, -7EV

Interesting. I thought you used a much larger aperture here, but I guess since it's at such high zoom, you could use a smaller aperture and get sharp details! Is my understanding correct? My technical knowledge is rusty because I've been away from photography for a too long :?
