I have a Sony 230a with 18-55 SAM, and I would like to try my luck with macro photos.
I came across Raynox DCR-250 conversion lens, and I am wondering whether that is a good choice for me, or shall I try some of Raynox other macro conversion lenses? As price wise Raynox lenses look reasonable.
Are there any other macro conversion lenses of different brands that you may recommend?

Hi Aha,

welcome to the forum! I have and use both the Raynox DCR-250 and the DCR-150.

I find myself using the DCR-150 more, as the 250 is too extreme for my needs.

There certainly are alternatives, such as lens extension tubes from Kenko. But I personally hate fiddling with extension tube..too wobbly for me.

Short of buying a dedicated Macro lens, I feel that Raynox has the best offering on the market from a price/performance point of view.

Good luck with your choice!

Cheers :-)
