This Hornet was found dead in the living room one morning - its wings are 25mm (1-inch) long!! Too big to go under the microscope - this image was taken using a Canon 100mm macro lens and manually focusing through the subject. 18-frames later, stacked using Helicon Focus and this is the result. Aren't even the tiniest creatures on this planet amazingly complex when you can see them in detail?
