Hi All,

Just purchased my first DSLR (Nikon D80) and after a week of reading on this site, these are my first ever DSLR shots. Shots taken with "Auto" setting, with all focusing dialled manualy.

I had some help from a friend who touched up the photos using Adobe Photo Elements.

I've been reading up on the tips and experiences from this site and so far has been very helpful. If you have some time, please critic and provide feedback.

Some very nice shots there, especially the one with the bee :)

If you upgraded to the D80 from a P&S you'll need to adjust to the shallower DOF due to the larger sensor - using f/11 and smaller for macro shots is normal.

Welcome to the forum.

Thanks Darrin,

I'll give that a try, so many variables to shoot with a DSLR, but i reckon i'll get there soon.

May get some practice in and take some more pictures of Melbourne this weekend.
