Amaryllis small by cybermystic, on Flickr

The Amaryllis in the dining-room is now in pristine nick and asking to be macro'd. It provided the nectar drops for added zing. A two-frame macromosaic using the Canon 5D MkII and Canon ring-flash.

Great shot, although the lighting looks too direct and harsh, maybe having an external flash in the side to make the lighting a bit softer?

Looking at the posted image - I agree. Didn't appear quite as bad full size on the monitor. This was using a ring-flash, so it was straight onto the subject.

I believe there are no diffusers for ring flashes, am I right?

Mine doesn't have a diffuser that's for sure - wouldn't be too hard to fit something on the front though :D
