A great capture!!! Some nice catchlights in the eyes are always a big plus. :) I find myself imagining a different crop though. I would try it with most of the black area cropped out (roughly up to where the 'p' is) as I feel it detracts from an excellent moment.

i tried it...and it seemed to take away from the "peek a boo" effect. so i decided to stick with the original crop. thanks for the comments guys!

There's too much black to the right of the composition as well as the bokeh off some lighting/reflection that takes some attention away. I agree that a square crop doesn't work. The best I could visualise through various crops would be trimming 81 pixels off the right to give a composition closer to the golden mean.

But even that doesn't work terribly well which draws to the conclusion that there's something fundamentally wrong with the composition. A shame considering it's one of the cutest portraits I've seen this month.
