thought she was so cute, went to Disneyland, and they had this little mermaid face painting deal going on...the line was long, and it was hot out...and after sitting for a reallllllly long time, at last the deed was done...the perfect swirls for little girls..I was mesmerized as they looked into the mirror for the first time...never to old, or too young to sparkle.
just the hint of a smile...can you see it?

lovin life..

no, Roy, it would mar my natural beauty. Yeah, Right...the truth is the kids were having a ball, and the other truth was the stools they had the kids sittin on were too low to the ground. Tooo bad for me, I like swirls, and sparkles.

But this little girl, oh, my...she was entranced by the image in the mirror..like that first moment when you feel you might be beautiful. Or someone finds you beautiful..Sorta takes your breath away, even when you are just a little one. I loved it, just loved it..some of the little kids were born divas..but this little one, she was surprised, and delighted.

And so was I.

Wow, nice capture.

Make sure you get lots of these before she develops the infamous "look at me, I'm a model" look...

Hey patti,

that is a very good and engaging shot you managed to grab there. Good rich colors and composition and perhaps most importantly, great timing to get this expression and moment!!

It's very candid and not modeled at all, thus drawing you in closer.

Quite the pretty girl too with that festive make-up.

Good catch!

Cheers :-)

It was just a little shot, almost missed, because there were DUCKS in the pond behind her. Mallards. You know I have been trying to get a good shot of a duck for a long time. I don't know who this little one is, I asked her mom is I could take the pictures, and she had no problem. We were all watching her, she was something...

Thanks for the kind words, you know it means the world to me.
