Since I have two trips to Amsterdam coming up, and just returned from a day in Utrecht, I created this thread to share some pictures from the trips. For now it will just be Utrecht snaps, but stay tuned for some first Amsterdam and Alkmaar shots soon.

All snaps were taken with my M9-P.

Really nice shots, I like the second one the most as well, I would've though of a different composition, but yours is great, nice job :)

Thanks for your comments guys! I was aiming for a different composition too pierovera, with the dinghy positioned in the right corner, but these guys were pretty fast. Or perhaps I'm too slow.
I will post some links soon to several images that aren't appropriate for this board, of a little 'district' in Amsterdam. Stay tuned here or on my Google+.

Here's another photo of boats in Dutch canals, shot in Alkmaar last week. I was visiting the weekly cheese market, but it was so incredibly busy I quickly left to snap pictures of quieter scenes.

That #3 is great, the lighting looks really nice and I think you captured it in the right moment, nice job :)

Thank you Piero! I was very fortunate to be at the cheese market early enough for the light to be this good.

Great shots as always. I really liked #10, I think the composition is really strong, though I wonder if a slightly lower POV might've looked better. I think that the positioning of the lone guy on the bottom left third and the group of guys on the upper right third with the river distancing them is really great. The lighting on the lone guy is also really nice.

Good job Bjorn :)

Thanks Piero! I too liked that separation between the guy and the group of the other side. They're lit differently, face the camera differently, and are in different corners of the picture, all of which separates the characters and tells a story about wanting to belong/seclusion. That's how I interpret it anyway.

I agree that a lower perspective would have worked (get some more of the houses in there too), but I must admit I am a very lazy photographer. If I can get a decent picture without any special movements, I take it and move on. Probably something I should try to change in the future...
