Camera Labs

So i am more of a landscape guy really but it was raining so i thought i would try some shots inside and my little boy was playing around so i started snapping.

I then told him to look at the cover of a CD and mimic what he saw. The CD i showed him was U2's War. The one with the boy on the front. He instantly frowned and i shot the shot.

As i said im more in to landscapes so im happy when i get a good photo of someone.

Got some of the gear but really still no idea...

nice shot, the background is a bit distracting. I haven`t done much portrait type work inside. Lighting can be hard to get right without a flash and studio set up.

But I find taking shots outside while the kids are doing something, like riding bike or kicking/catching the ball far for more successful. Takes a lot to get good shots, but its good fun and I learnt a lot. We got pretty average weather here at the moment, but when a bit of nice afternoon sun is about, you can get good results.

Yep I agree about the background. I haven't tried dodging the silver tap and bowl that might lower the distraction.

I also have outside shots of the kids at play but neve really tried to get a great photo of them. I was trying stuff I don't really do much of and was pleased with my result.

I think it's pretty emotive and i love the fact he was looking straight towards me. The shot is hand held and I had to crouch a little to get it so that I was level with him.

Kids and pets. They are much more photogenic than me ! But I think I may stick more to landscapes !

Definitely stick with it, robbon. I used to avoid photographing people, of even having them in the frame. Pluck up the courage and go for it...
