This is a photo I'd like to print and have on the wall of my house. I am wondering if anyone can give me feedback on any adjustments I should make before I get it put on a canvas. I am not a professional photographer by any means, but aspiring to get better at taking better pictures up front and doing less on the backend in lightroom and photoshop. Honesty is okay, but be gentle ;)

Taken with my Canon 50D with my EF 50mm f/1.4 USM lens
ISO 800
1/60 sec at f/1.6
No flash

The image doesn't work, it says the picture has been moved or deleted by the user. Are you sure the link is correct?

By the way nice shot, but I think it's a bit soft and it has a strange magenta cast. Is the photo taken in RAW or is it a normal JPEG?

I believe the "magenta cast" is due to the light from the Christmas tree he is reaching for. Ideas for getting rid of the "cast"?

As I asked before, is the photo a RAW file or a JPEG file?

By the way, just a couple things. First, it's better if the file's RAW, you'll have more flexibility when editing, there is no need to be sorry. And second, just wondering, how did you edit it?

What are you using for processing ? Photoshop or Lightroom?? Your changes work but I think the shot could have been framed better. It's nearly there and the focus on the eyes is good.

I was playing with the adjustments and used the targeted adjustment tool to lower the levels of magenta/red on the babys face. I added a bit of Saturation around the skin as well.

I use both... I will make some adjustments in Lightroom but because this photo was taken in RAW, I used CameraRaw to adjust it.

In photoshop, I will make the major adjustments to eyes. Lightroom is much more efficient in my mind to make those exposure and other basic adjustments using the quick sliders.

As for being "framed better", I am not familiar with what you mean. Is my rule of thirds off? I don't fully understand that but know of it.

By framing better I mean I think it would have been better that the back if his head wasn't chopped off and the blurry background to the left wasn't so dominant. I agree with placing the subject off centre but I don't like seeing them chopped off. :D
