So, what do you think? It's made of 3 exposures stitched together in Photomatix.

No EXIF, I'm afraid, but it's taken with a Nikon D50 with the Nikkor 18-135mm at 18mm and f/18.

It looks pretty good, the grass is maybe a little to saturated. I'd be tempted to play with the green/yellow levels and tone it down a bit.

Nice for a first try though, my first was horrible.

it quite a nice little scene, but not quite sure what or how the HDR process would have helped this shot, surely the Nikon D50 can achieve a photo like this without the need for any hdr.................... :? :?

Good shot! It's well done, especially for a first try at HDR.

As Jack mentioned, the grass is little loud on it. I would probably kick back the saturation a notch.

Given the nature of the scene's composition, with the waterway being the main focus, it probably would have been interesting to try and take this portrait style instead of landscape. That way you could keep the focus on the water, while showing some more sky.

The only other thing I would add is that you probably did not have to shoot at f/18 for this shot. Nothing in the foreground is close enough to warrant that small of an aperture, and you lose sharpness going that small. You probably could have gotten away with f/13 or f/11 without an loss in DoF.
