Hey Taz, haven't seen you round here before, so welcome to the forums :)

I actually prefer the first shot of the two. I'd add a bit more contrast to it but on the whole, I like it.

Id give that image a Huge crop!

why? because there is just too much black in it! Apart from that the shots shows a good nice sunset :)

whadaya mean this isn't good...look at the colors you managed to know sunsets change in milliseconds, and the best light is so short lived...I know, because I have missed it so many did a great job, as with alex I think just a little tweak of croping, will balance the whole thing out, and you will see just what a great job you have done...gosh, I can't even tell you how much my shots are better when I crop them. More is more. If you don't have it in the shot, and "crop" in camera...then when you need to adjust something, you run out of "balance" room...I say get familar with your camera, and take as many photos in as many different lighting situations. Let the photo come to you, as you have done here with the perfect colors, and you are on your way!

canon 7D, Mark iii 5D, ef 70-300 f/4-5.6, ef 28-135mm canon 100-400mm L IS 4.5, and a little 24-70 L f/2.8...
