Taken at Canyon of the Ancients National Monument, Colorado

Really enjoy the area, great hiking and biking, definitely recommended if your ever in the four corners area.

I went out with the intent of taking a lot of photos and playing with the camera in landscapes, criticism and feedback is welcome.

I like the contrasting colours in this set especially # 2. I’m surprised the sky is a darker blue with zero EV on #2 and #1 is a lighter blue with -0.3 EV.

Cheers

Great set, I liked the 2nd one a lot as well. I wonder what that cave is/was, looks like some human construction. Any ideas?

Hi Periovera,

Canyon of the Ancients is near Mesa Verde national park, most of these cave dwellings are from Pueblo 1 or 2 era, also known as Anazasi Native Americans. The dates generally range from 700-1200ad. I believe it would be later in the time frame, as most natives in this area only moved to the canyons after 1000ad. Check out some photos of Mesa Verde if you have a chance, amazing place. And thanks for the feedback!

Hey 4xxxx,

Thanks for the feedback! I played with them some in iPhoto (all I have for now) but I'm not sure why #2 has a strong contrast, clouds did roll in during the hike so maybe thats why? Not sure.
