I had a rare early finish from work today, so as the sun was out (another rare occurrence) I decided to head to one of the beaches with camera in hand. These are the ones I like best out of quite a lot that were taken!

Of course, your critique and expert opinions are most welcome... :)

Some nice shots, I miss living near the coast.

If anything I would be tempted to under expose a little to stop the sun from blowing out the shots. If you shot these in raw then you could adjust the overall exposure in post processing or even add a graduated filter to the skies.

Nice location!

Thank you for the tip robbon, about under exposing. I was down at another beach this morning for the sunrise so I tried your advice on under exposing. I've not had chance to download and have a look at the pictures yet, but I hope some have come out okay.

The processing software I have doesn't handle RAW too good, so I can't do too much with the pictures. Photoshop or something similar is a future aim. I do feel like I'm cheating in some way tweaking pictures afterwards, though I can appreciate it's a whole other skill, of which I'm coming to learn I'm no natural at... :?

Great shots! I especially liked the last one, I like how you put the rocks in the foreground, I think it's more interesting that way, the composition looks better. Good job :)

Thank you, pierovera. That one's my favourite too. I liked the sunset colours reflecting on the rocks.
