Went out shooting with my 40D early the other morning. Light was poor, High ISO + Large Aperture + Slow Shutter speeds annoyed me all morning.

I would have waited till after 9pm (well stayed there till like 1pm) but I had to go and get the shopping from the butches, bakers and the co-op lol (no candle stick makers i'm afraid)

Anyway, only shot I would say I was happy with out of around 50-60ish.

Aperture: f/3.5
Focal Length: 28 mm
ISO Speed: 500



Post processing levels to get rid of the dim lifeless snow/grass on the ground.

Some people criticize shots like this for "lacking detail in the foreground".

Really there was a little detail in the foreground, but so much that it accounted for nout - so I took it out to make it less distracting, besides it compliments the aim of the photograph better and what I was trying to do - capture a sunrise.

But, by the time I got to the loch (another 5 min walk by the time I had taken other pictures walking across the course) it was to cloudy to even see the sun
