Sorry WestCoast

I am originally from just north of Newcastle, in Northumberland. That makes me a "Geordie" in local UK terms. Northumberland is God's country. I hope I am not confusing everyone with my pics, taken in the Lake District. The Lake District is in the north west of England and is where I live at present. It's a nice place to live.

Newcastle and Northumberland are where Newcastle Brown Ale comes from.

The colours are definitely better in this latest image. If I was you I'd use an ND Grad either on the camera or in PP - it'll make all the difference. Having said that your first shots are pretty damn good compositionally. I assume your shooting in RAW (NEF)? If so then those first shots can easily be rescued. Still, all in this is nice work.

* edit * - I looked a bit closer at your first shots and I think maybe your white balance is out. At least it is to my eye. I think it should be a tad warmer. Try setting your Nikon WB to Cloudy and see how that goes for you.

Thanks Zorro
I was shooting RAW+JPEG. Back at work shortly but I'll play about with white balance too when I get a chance.
That has been a lot of help from cameralab members.
Thanks all.
