This week I had the pleasure to see this huge "baby". Photos taken in Funchal harbour.

That's a big ship! It was named in Southampton a few weeks ago. I didn't get to see it, but I did see its sister ship the "Freedom of the Seas" when it was in.

I particularly like the last photo, the way the mooring ropes draw you into the picture, but number 3 is good for showing the size of the ship.

She can take 4,370 passengers and has a crew of 1,360!

I really like the last shot... the leading lines to the ship. Nice composition and colours.

Now thats a big ship. Great shots, hard to pick a favourite, they all show great detail, crisp and clear and the colours are lovely.

Cheers Ormina

Hi Mast3rChi3f,

Nice shots but, like Thomas, I really like the last shot - great composition. Could you share the camera settings for that one? Did you focus at the hyperfocal distance to get the apparently great depth of field?

Bob.

Hi Mast3rChi3f

very nice shots indeed! I too like the last the most and the blue of the mooring ropes is very juicy.

When Gordon receives the "best internet site in the world"-award and governments from every country sends him lots of money, we should hire it and and have every forum member picked up for a 1-month photo-cruise!

Cheers :-)

Great set! Number 3 gives a really good impression as to just how tall and massive the ship is...and that last one? Crap man. Taking a picture of a ship from the view of its moorings just...well it reminds me how freaking heavy she must be.

They're all amazing, but that last one is the most 'clever' there. Really like them! Well done!
