I'm back from a 5 week holiday with my wife in Ireland. I have created a gallery at PBase. If you are interested, here is the link.

Thanks to everyone who takes a look.

Hi Frank, you have put together a very nice a varied collection of photos of your Irish holiday. I loved the tree in the mist photo, and i would have kept a real distance from the lorry carrying the wood, didnt seem to be a safety net over them. I was supposed to go to Ireland early in the year (it was cancelled due to the Ash Cloud). Thanks for sharing the photos.
Sue

Interesting collection, what did you PP in the South King Street shot, I think the effect is rather unique.

Cheers

Naniani, thanks for taking a look and for your comments.

I Have to admit I was a little worried while we were behind the truck with the logs. :)

Sorry, you missed your holiday in Ireland. I hope you can get there soon.

I love Ireland and it has become a second home for me. My wife is from Ireland and we were married there.

Your photos are beautiful! I love "The Scream" and "Tennis ball/out of play".

4xxxx thanks for taking a look and for your comment.

I can't remember specifically what processing I did on this photo. I know I cropped it and may have adjusted exposure in Lightroom. In Photoshop I usually try Auto Contrast, Auto Color, Levels, Curves, Brightness/Contrast, Vibrance, Equalize and Shadows/Highlights and some toos. I also try Unsharp Mask to increase contrast and sharpen at Amount 20, Radius 50, Threshold 0. I "fool" with things until I am satisfied. Many of my adjustments are applied locally and I don't necessarily use them all on each photo. I also often reduce an adjustment by fading it.

I usually sharpen using PhotoKit Output Sharpener and sometimes more normal setting in Unsharp Mask or local sharpening with the sharpening tool.
Sorry I can't say specifically what I did, but I don't keep a record.

I like the wall hanging one - looks a lot like the sun.

These are great; and it is a good selection of many different kinds of shots.

It makes me want to go back when the weather is nicer. I finally went to Ireland over the 2009/10 winter when the rain and snow shut down everything!

I like your shots of the ruins and graves, but also the landscapes. Also the architectural shots of Stephen's Green shopping center and the rail stations. (Actually, it's pretty hard for me to see a picture of Ireland that I don't like!)

As an off-topic quick question: how do you like PBase for photo storage? My workplace blocks most flash based sites like Wix and Smugmug. I'm trying to find something inexpensive that works more universally and has a cleaner look than Flickr.

Jenny thanks for your kind comments. Ireland certainly makes it easy for the photographer. :) We were very fortunate to have great weather for the whole 5 weeks we were there.

I love PBase. The people there are great and I love the formats in which you can display photos. The negatives are that there is a learning curve if you want to do fancy things and sometimes the site is slow. I like the statistics too (although they are slow to be posted). Overall, I am very satisfied.
