Unfortunately I haven't gone back, but I'm just trying out some virtual HDR on some old RAW files. Here's one of sunrise over Angkor Wat in September 2009 - it's a very calming place in the mornings, so I was trying to keep the feel of the photo in that vein rather than with eye popping HDR - C&C more than welcome:

Nicely done Phil, after seeing billabongs here at that time of day, it’s very close to what I remember and natural. I agree it’s very calming. Do you have one original for comparison.

That's either the same shot, or just taken a few seconds before or after. I prefer the latest version because of the mood, and am just comtemplating if I should print it BIG...

Votes on whether to or not are more than welcome...!

Definitely - just come back from Siem Reap and the HDR version is an improvement over the original imho

fudge - how did you enjoy it? The humidity in the mornings were a killer with everything steaming up instantly and never fully clearing!

Better... but I would add some light to the background IMHO

Not a big fan of HDR (in fact, not at all), but I think the photo's been improved. I do miss some detail in the shadow areas though...

I have stayed in Singapore for the last three years so i actually found the temperature in August refreshingly cool! For others that haven’t made it, Angkor Wat is a dream to visit and provides great photo opportunities
