Here is my brothers car and he wanted me to take some pictures of it... If you don't mind please critique the photo! I will be doing more later on... So any tips will help!!


P.S. If anyone would like to do some HDR work for me I would really appreciate it... Just PM me and I will send the file to an e-mail address.

well first of all the border... not very stylish for a car photo... second, the signature in the corner.. either make it smaller or more formal... right now it's bothering the photo... third, next time try to get a bit of landscape or something else with the photo aswell ... at least a bit more sky so u increase the drama... those are my 2 cents =)

Well lets see;

1; crop is too tight. How many car shots have you seen cropped this tight?
2; get the car somewhere interesting. If there's nowhere interesting, maybe try getting a sunset in there. Probably won't work though as you'd need an off camera flash. Sunset behind, off camera left/right.
3. Middle of the day light isn't very flattering
4. I'm not a big fan of borders. I'd just stick with a black one if it were me at most.

Btw, take my CC with a pinch of salt. There's no one way of doing something.

Thanks for the cc's! My brother will be heading back to school and eventually will be getting new stuff for his car and wants me to do the new pictures... It will be a while before I will be getting new pictures...

I'd also like to add that when choosing the location, make sure that the car is lit well.

The front area of the car is a bit underexposed, so perhaps lighting from the front.

set up is everything...when you photograph on the cement or asphalt, hose it down with some water, and then drive the car onto the wet...the reflection will be wonderful...and you want to make sure that the front end of the vehicle appears straight...pay close attention to how the wheels point, that helps, and get the best reflective light you can on the windows..a lower angle, and postitioning yourself just a tad to the left( would make it so you don't see"thru" the back window..creating an illusion of mystery and allure..this is a beautiful car, with lots of reflections...oh, yeah, just a little tweak here and there, and it will be perfecto!

turning the wheels in the opposite direction might of helped a lil bit also.

A polarizer filter will also help ward off the reflections.
