I am looking at an used Promaster AF zoom lens, 70-300 mm, f4-5.6, Minolta mount to go with a Sony A100 I am about to buy. Are Promaster lenses reasonable in terms of optics/quality? I have had no experience with this brand. Any input will be appreciated.

Crikey, I've never heard of them! I'd google them and see what you come up with...

Hi DebSmee,

never heard of ProMaster either! But when I compare prices I'd suggest you go for one of the 70-300mm Sigmas or even the Tamron. They should be in the same price range, and you know what you get!
