Hi cameralabs

I really enjoy your reviews and I have used them extensively in the search for my future equipment.

However, right now reviews of DSLR equipment (and the forum) seems to be a bit biased in favor of Nikon D80 and the 18-200 VR lens. I am sure this is some of the best equipment on the market right now, but different people different religion. I really like the group test of 18-200 lenses but I don't think a proprietary lens (Nikkor) should be part of it since the test would only be for people who have a Nikon or are about to buy one. I miss a more broad review of equipment, like the 18-200 or 16-80 Carl Zeiss from Sony now that the A-100 is in the "best buys" list, and perhaps some popular Pentax lenses.

Hi Rune, I am very keen to test the CZ 16-80mm, but it keeps getting delayed! I hope to test it soon though. Have you seen it yet?

I have also tested the Sony 75-300mm lens here:

http://www.cameralabs.com/reviews/Sony75300mm/

And our most recent lens test was of Pentax models, here:

http://www.cameralabs.com/reviews/Penta ... 70mm_lens/

So it's not all Nikon and Canon! But I agree there is a bias towards the Nikon D80 and the 18-200mm in the forum at the moment simply because it is such a popular and successful combination - and we have several forum members who are keen owners of them. So it's up to you guys with other cameras to readdress the balance and tell us about your equipment and why it's the best!

Gordon

PS - the Nikkor 18-200mm was tested with the Sigma and Tamron 18-200mm because at the time they were the only three 18-200mms on the market. I know there's a KM 18-200mm - and now a Sony 18-200mm - but I believe they are in fact rebranded Sigma 18-200s.

Hi Gordon,

Thanks for your answer, I didn't knew about the KM/Sony and Sigma. Maybe Canon could be part of the group with the 28-200 and Olympus' 18-180 some time in the future? It seems to me that the super zoom group is the most important right now for non-pros so it would be nice to see as many manufacture represented in such a group test. Since you do the best test on the net it would be even nicer to see them here. May the best lens win

I have only seen CZ 16-80 on the internet so it must be released, I guess. Hope they will send you a sample soon then :)
