Hi everyone, I've started testing the new Leica DG Summilux 25mm f1.4 ASPH lens for Micro Four Thirds bodies.

I hope to publish a full review in time, including comparisons against the 20mm f1.7, but in the meantime here's a selection of sample images and videos, taken with the Lumix G3:

This lens is certainly causing a lot of buzz in the m4/3 community at the moment. I'm on a mobile connection at moment so can't pixel peep effectively, but what's the general impression on lens performance? Samples elsewhere suggested it is slightly soft, but not excessively so at f/1.4 and generally gets better as you stop down, like most standard primes. I know, I should wait for the review... :D

Apart from that there's the price... got any official statements on list pricing? I don't recall seeing that yet.

Gordon,

It'd be good to see how this leica stacks up against the 14-42 kit lens at the same FL. Perhaps the kit lens turns out to be competitive against the leica at similar apertures, would save some a bit of money.

Hi capital, I hope to check that out, along with a comparison against the 20mm

Hi everyone, I added a new video and also depth-of-field comparisons against the 20mm f1.7 and 14-42mm kit lens here:
