I have been looking at this for a couple days and I was wondering what it is actually for, if you are supported by the Nikon CLS is there a need for one, how much do they generally cost?

Hi Nathan!

The PocketWizard PLUS II , is basically a wireless transceiver.

Like your ML-L3 but rather more fancy. Works up to 1600feet  .
It has slightly more options and has a new.

"Auto-Relay mode- Wirelessly triggers a remote camera and flash
simultaneously."

Find out more at www.pocketwizard.com

The prices are for a single unit around 200$, im guessing you need 2.

This seems to me rather like a waste of money.

Jay

Ya, I am not gonna get one, at least until I decide I need studio lighting, which will be a while from now.

they are good if you use 2 bodies, say you shoot action sports, whether it be racing, or skate vert, you can have your camera anywhere and trigger the camera remotely with your other body, or if you have a flash you can trigger flash remotely
