Samples are available too at DPR.

Seems to be a sexy looking camera with great ergonomics. However I'm not that impressed with its high ISO performance.

REVIEW IT! PLEASE!

I would really like to know how that 24.6 MP sensor does, especially at low noise.

This seems almost an anti-climax to me, with all the leaks before there weren't any new surprises left. :D

Important bits are:

A900 US$3000 November and no live view. They could have at least stuck in the mirror flip and contrast based methods...

70-400G $1500 Jan '09.
CZ16-35 f/2.8 $1800 Jan '09.

Here is a link to the DPR sample gallery page.
Removed on Gordon' request. But you know where to find them :)

and another hands-on review

First impression:
YEAH, NO LIVE VIEW :D :D :D
Up to ISO 1600 very low noise, Higher ISO very useable for B/W
Good looking IQ
Like what I see, price is high but acceptable.

Actually I was looking at the same sample pictures and I don't feel the same way. I would consider the noise level as unacceptable at anything higher than ISO400. Am I the only one?

I sincerely hope that there's something wrong with the software of the production A900 or the lens. The A900 is a long waited camera and it should be able to do much better.

From the samples, I don't think the A900 is bad at high ISO. For the pixel density, my initial impressions are it's about average. The 50D sample pic does seem exceptionally good. But for both, I think I'd like to see many more samples before coming to any conclusions.

Hi guys, remember dpreview agressively blocks links to cameralabs, so I'd prefer we didn't link to them here.

Concerning the A900, we will of course be reviewing it as soon as Sony gets a final production model over to us. I'm also preparing a news article about it right now...

In the meantime, I've created a new thread with the official press relrease and links to Sony's official pages here:

http://www.cameralabs.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=67569

I'll lock this thread and ask that we continue in the other one - thanks!
