if it is a sony lens then they will all fit all sony camera's

The mount the alpha camera uses is the 'A-Mount' so if the lens says this then it will fit all sony camera's

When the new sony a900 comes out it will be a full frame camera and so lenses labled DT will not work properly with full frame camera's.

From what I've heard and seen, the way to see if a lens works with the Alpha series is by looking at the end of the lens while rotating the focus dial and seeing if a small "nut" is spinning around in a little hole...

If you have the lens handy, simply try to mount it on your camera. Basically all old Minolta AF lenses will fit Sony cameras and if you are looking at third party lenses (Sigma, Tamron etc) it should mention about compartibility with Sony cameras.
