I haven't tested the W200, but would be concerned about electronic noise levels. 12 Megapixels is a lot to squeeze onto the small sensors of a compact and traditionally this would result in more noise, especially at higher sensitivities. Or more noise reduction which would smear out detail.
Of course maybe Sony's managed to get around this, but I suspect not.
If you like everything else about this camera, then certainly consider it. But if you're only buying it because it has 12 Mpixels, I wouldn't bother. Very few people need this amount, and like I said, it could actually reduce your picture quality when it gets dark.
The next compacts I'm testing are the Panasonic TZ3 and FZ8.
