Quality wise I was happy with my A580, but I thought high-ISO peroformance is better on A65?
Seems that most agree for straight out of the camera results with no work required, the A580 is still tops of all Sony APS-C DSLRs or SLTs...it's slightly better than SLTs with that same sensor because it doesn't have the translucent mirror to deal with. Most agree that if you were to take an A77 or A65 photo with the 24MP sensor, then downsize the photo to 16MP with some noise reduction in post-processing, you'd get essentially equal results to the A580...but the A65 high-ISO output looks a wee bit noisier than the A580, and moreover the 24MP sensor tends to have a fairly high chroma noise output which needs to be cleaned up in post processing. If you don't mind downsizing and cleaning up all your high ISO photos, then you could probably get the same results as the 16MP sensor - but the 16MP sensor can churn out those results right out of the camera without additional processing, which some folks prefer.

I am also thinking of getting into videos more, which would be better for that, both of them support AF in video mode?
You're fine with any Sony SLT model - they all have the fixed translucent mirror, which allows the cameras to take still photos, continuously fire a burst of photos, or shoot video, all while continuing to phase-detect autofocus. They're the only cameras that can phase-detect autofocus while shooting video in any light conditions.
