I need some help with buying a memory card to go with this camera im getting.

I have been Reading These details from amazon.

Is the A100 compatible with both compact flash and memory stick type cards?

What is the difference between compact flash and compact flash 2?

What memory card do you recommend me? Im looking to spend not much over £50 if i can help it.

Yes, the A100 is compatible with both CF and MS Pro Duo, but you'll need an adapter for the MS-cards (I believe it is supplied with the A100).

If I were you, I'd buy a CF-card, Extreme III or IV, depending on your wishes. Those are much faster than MS-cards (20MB/sec and 40MB/sec. respectively). The amount of GB's also depends on your wishes, I'd go for a 4.0GB. A 2.0GB may also be enough, but if you go on longer trips with only one card, it might not be sufficient.

Update: You might want to check the manual of the A100, I believe it can't write at speeds of 40MB/sec., so an Extreme IV card is not needed, only for fast copying to your PC.

the book has no word on how fast it can write. An Extreme III 2GB CF card should net between 485-755 pics in 10.2 and 838-1279 pics in 5.6 v M/S 471-735 pics in 10.2 and 815-1245 pics in 5.6. Curtis
