Actually it is capable of ISO 12800 which is high, but not that much, compared to the 25600 or above (I believe the current 'record' was set by the D3S and 1DIV, at ISO 102,400)...

The Twilight mode (at least for still subjects) would raise Nex lowlight performance higher than any camera short of full-frame.

This NZ site

http://www.phototronic.co.nz/

claims they are "Taking orders now."

I assume it's for pre-order

Hi folks,

Not many of us will have a few Leica M mount lenses in our bags but (yes, I am in the right section and no, I haven't either) for those that do or
who might want to start a collection here's what the Super Leica Elmar-M 18mm f/3.8 ASPH lens looks like on a NEX-5:

For some "quality style crustaceans" and more eye candy, including some sample images, head on over to Sony NEX take Leica M lens! (Googlish).

Bob.

@OneGuy, they may even be on sale in NZ, but there's a big difference between something being on sale and something being available for review. Sometimes it takes a long time for a product to be available to the PR departments of companies which can then lend them to publications for review. Frustratingly, this can take a while for some products and some companies in NZ. Sadly the press are not the number 1 focus of companies down here.

That's ok. Until Sony announces the specs of the NEX7, there's not really any rush to buy the NEX3 or 5, at least not on my part.

I am very much looking forward to your review, Gordon. I think you do some of the best reviews on the net and always search yours out - specially your video reviews. I hope you do one for the NEX as well.

Its been a few weeks since your last reply here... any update on when you'll get a unit to check out? There seems to be availability worldwide the past week or two, so hoping you'll have one soon.

Nope, sadly still no sign from Sony NZ, and no timescales either. The longer they take to deliver, the less inclined I am to do a big review or video tour. It may just be a brief report / comparison.

Maybe they are selling too well and Sony NZ has nothing spare to offer :(

It is clear that they really do great in Japan. In the US they seem to be selling pretty good as well...
