Ofcourse, I am confused and need advise to buy and this is b/w Sony H20, Sony H50.
I have done my homework and knows that
-- H20 is cheap, giving 10x and that is fine for me, will not come in pocket
-- H50 is clostly, giving 15x and that much I will not be needing, will not come in pocket

My requirement:
-- Cost
-- Re-sale value
-- will be able to take family, outing pics, do recording, get used to camera's so that after a year I would start the photography

If you like photography and see yourself getting more involved with it over the next couple of years and maybe forever, I would say pass on the P&S altogether.
You will get a lot more satisfaction and superior quality results from a DSLR. Even if you buy a cheap camera now, next year you will long for a DSLR, so just bite the bullet and do it now.

If your price challenged, get a good used A200 and you will be leapfrogged into a different world of photography right away.
