I am looking to buy the Sony 70-300 mm F4.5-5.6 G SSM lens for my Alpha 300. Since I bought my camera in the Netherlands I am not sure if the lens is compatible if bought from the UK or the US. Reason for not buying it here is that this lens is a lot more expensive in the Netherlands.
Can anyone help?

It doesn't matter where the lens came from.

If you're comparing with other areas of electronics, where features such as power supplies, TV standards or wireless frequencies are concerned, there can be country to country differences. None of those apply to lenses.

Hi i.lacroix,

I've deleted all of your multiple posts on this topic except this one. Asking the same question in more than one place not only contravenes our forum rules but it also risks wasting member's time, not to mention your Moderator's time as well.

Hope you get the answers you need and we look forward to your continued presence here at CameraLabs.

Bob.

Allereerst, van harte welkom op het forum van Camera Labs.
(First, a warm welcome to the Camera Labs forum.)

Back to English. You'll have no problem with UK/US lenses on your camera, it's all built in Asia anyway, so... Make sure not to forget import taxes if you buy the lens from the States, that can make it significantly more expensive.

+1 with Bjorn, careful if you ship from the US, you might get taxed,
Fortunately, if you buy from the UK, Belastingdienst does not tax it.
Another option is to scour ebay.de or marktplaats :)

Like others have said.

The said lens will work on your Sony camera. If you intend to get it from overseas, beware of taxes and risk of shipping unless you are travelling to those countries yourself.

Also, the warranty issue. Most Sony cameras' and lenses ' warranties aren't international.
