Hi everybody!

I'm looking for a long range lense, but I just can't understand wich lense is
the best for my Pentax... The Tamron 18-200mm or the Sigma 18-200mm if
someone could send me a post about a basic explaination of wich lense is the
best I would really appreciate!

It's not 'cause the review of Gordon Laing isn't good! To the contrary, they are too god and I juste can't find myself in all these explaination  anyway thx and hope to see you soon!

Bonjour Peace-Warrior,

On top of the Tamron 18-200mm and the Sigma 18-200mm, you could add the Pentax 18-250mm :!:

Pentax has launched the smc P-DA 18-250mm F3.5-6.3 ED AL(IF), with a very interesting range, but I have no idea about the quality of the pictures.

I know I may add confusion to your quest, however this option is worth considering :)

Best regards,

Bonsoir Peace-Warrior,

I'm so sorry :!: You shouldn't feel confused after having selecting the K10D :D

With the DA* 50-135mm, I spent more on one single lens than for the body :)

Back to the smc P-DA 18-250mm F3.5-6.3 ED AL(IF) lens, since it's rather new, I haven't found any review so far.

However, one European reseller offers a  bundlewith the K10D and the 18-250mm lens at EUR 1200.

Hi Peace-Warrior!
You should go for the Sigma 18-200 OS (that is stabilized and will avoid loosing pictures due to shake).
See a review here.

Bonjour Thomas,

Since the K10D has a built-in shake reduction, do you know how does double stabilization, the first in the body, the second in the lens work :?:

Best regards,

Bonsoir Peace-Warrior,

The K100D is an excellent camera, easier to operate than the K10D, thanks to its picture modes (landscape, portrait, sport, ...) before starting the Sv, Av, ... and the full manual mode.

I used to have an *ist DL, which was the release before the K100D, and I learned everything, since it was my first dSLR.

Two other advantages of the K100D over the K10D : the use of standard batteries (count USD 50 a pop for the K10D) and the very sensitive sensor (same surface as K10D's but 6M pixels, so each pixel receives more light).

Now, the biggest part is to wait till X-mas :!: Start the countdown :)
