Recently I have noticed "some" shots that "should" be what I want them to be are not.
I know what you're thinking....shhhhh

This B.I.F. in my mind "should" be frozen,it's not.
Going by what the exif says IMO it should be.

Exposure Time: 0.0003 s (1/3000)
Aperture: f/4.5
ISO Equiv.: 400
Exposure Bias: 0.50

In similar light yesterday I took this.
That arrow is moving at 210 ft per second and it is frozen.
I can zoom in and see the slot for the string in it.

ISO Equiv.: 800

Is it possible I am getting the wrong data?
Camera not doing what it's told to do but saying it is?
I know I'm getting pretty frustrated,hitting it sometimes and not sometimes....grrrrrrrrrr!!!!

Maybe it's possesed?

hey kpr.. 1/3000 should have frozen him... now the pheasant is small on my screen but it does look to me like the entire bird is blurred.. the tail for sure... not sure what you have for AF points and what the camera was set to but if the entire bird is out of focus maybe the AF didnt pick up the bird?

I've noticed it on my 7D as well.. in dense cover or with confusing backrounds without much contrast between backround and target the AF system seems to take longer to find what you want or seems to get confused at times.

Have you tried different AF settings?

Also.. did you use 2 different lenses for the 2 shots?
