My new K10D is on the way! Very excited.

What is everyone doing to combat these 'lifeless' photos I keep reading about? Anyone have some suggested 'improvements' to the default settings?

If you prefer punchier output, just slightly increase the sharpening, contrast and saturation. You can make adjustments in-camera, or do them on photos afterwards on your PC.

But then again, you may like the default output from the K10D...

A lot of this is down to personal preference. Why not take the same photo using all of the K10D's different settings and see which looks best to you...

Bonjour Roasty,

Another solution is to shoot in RAW and use PENTAX PHOTO Laboratory to process the images.

I'm rather happy with the default settings in JPEG. For important pictures, I use RAW+JPEG, just in case! This comes very easy with the K10D dedicated RAW button.

i personally have my sharpness all the way down and the sharpness and contrast in the middle

it seems to work for me
then again im still new and still have alot to learn

so i too would like to know what eveyone else uses
