 Post subject: Pentax K20D or K200D
PostPosted: Thu Apr 16, 2009 5:53 pm
I'm trying to work out the differences that matter to me between these two cameras. The big appeal of the Pentax line is that they appear to be very well built and are weather sealed too. Below is my summary

K200D
=============
+ £200 cheaper
+ Uses standard AA batteries
+ Same AF system as the K20D
- Limited to ISO 1600
- Pentaprism view finder

K20D
=============
+ Goes to ISO 6400
+ Better build quality (?)
+ Better viewfinder
+ AF lamp
- Proprietary battery
- High ISO quality isn't that good.

I'm currently leaning more towards the K200D since it does what I need it to do (namely be weather sealed and has good build quality). The extra money left over will help me to buy the 18-50mm DA* lens.

Have I missed something really obvious or is the K200D a really good bargain?

Hi pgtips,

Another difference that came to light in the thread Looking for a capable DSLR for the outdoors is the limited number of shots the K200D can take in burst mode before the buffer fills. :shock:

Bob.

Continuous shooting isn't something that I'm too bothered about. It's a little too "spray-n-pray" for my liking and I don't shoot much sport either.

If you need the extra options in the K20D,then that is your choice.
I for one,still would preffer the CCD over the so-so CMOS.

:) I need to buy new pentax camera has dust & water proof, 9 or 11 points AF, fast Autofocus , sharper, bright, rich color and excellent quality lens or Pentax DA 18-250mm

I check two pentax's results here.
K200D's image is sharper than K20D.
