Just checked in IE and the banner is there. I knew there was a reason for Firefox, lol.

Adblock?!

I don't know guys... I know some ads can be annoying, but don't forget they're the only source of income for non-subscription sites like these! And if there's no income, then there's no content. This is my full time job now!

I just wish other sites didn't abuse them by using annoying flashing banners because they put people off and encourage them to use blocking tools. This however impacts everyone who relies on advertising and price checking systems for revenue.

Well that's my speech over!

It is however useful to know which tools block what, so we'll investigate this one further... If anyone else can't see the banners or pricegrabber panels on the review pages, please let me know!

Gordon

That's a fair and valid point Gordon

To be honest this site is pretty unique in that their most definitely is a face behind it. Most other sites the owner is pretty much invisible, whereas you are All Over Youtube.

I'll consider reversing the exclusion as long as I don't find the banners annoying. Deal?

It's a deal Zorro, thanks!

Does the software allow exclusions? Eg allow ads from 'trusted' sites?

Could I also ask, do the pricegrabber panels or google ads appear in the reviews?

Gordon,

Every now and then I go through and click on all the banners and price grabber links for you.

I see the Pricegrabber stuff in the reviews, adblock likes Pricegrabber. No Google ads though.

If anyone who doesn't see the banner would now like to make Gordon a very rich man have a look at the image below. This shows you the exclusion to set.

Thanks Jake!

Zorro, I'm a long way from being a rich man yet!

But being able to actually see the ads is definitely the first step...!

Right now though, you'll see the banner at the top of the non-forum pages is mostly used to promote different sections of the site.

If you do want to support us, please use the pricegrabber services on every page for checking prices, and the stores on the affiliate page when you come to do your shopping!

And of course by telling everyone you know about cameralabs and dslrtips!

Thanks!

Oops, sorry Gordon!

It was adblock, I'm not sure why it's blocking them as it never use to before. I've set it so that it allows anything from Cameralabs now. :D

Some how i always managed to click those banners by accident lol, but i will give a click everyday it is not really that bad :D

Its quite nice to knw like Z stated, that there is a face behind all this and he is popular on the net ( 8) but without the sunglasses)

Fixed my add blocker now and i can see the pricegrabber.com banner! I have actualy never really noticed that its quite a small litte non flashing sound making banner

Good point mate. Maybe the thread could be clipped by a mod and moved somewhere more suitable?

Hey Gordon (& co?)
Just wanted to say the on assignment banner is really cool!
It's very cool to have these pictures on the main site luring more people into the forums :)
