First of all, hi to everyone!

As you can see in my Subject Title I would like you (Gordon Laing) to make a review on some BIG camera like the D3, the EOS-1D Mark III and finally the Leica M8 for some reason that these are the one i wanna buy and don't know wich one to choose.

Thx and hope to have a response soon!

Hi Peace-warrior, wow, those are three pretty nice cameras! Ok, here's the deal - you get them for me, and I'll review them!

Actually, that's not far from the truth - as mentioned in other threads here, these top-end cameras are hard to come by from the manufacturer's loan pools, so it's unlikely I'll be doing any of them.

I'm not ruling it out though - just saying it's unlikely...!

Well... If i could i would do it for sure but i live in Quebec, St-Eustache so it'll be hard to send them to you + I don't have them yet. I could buy them all but I'm not rich!!! loll, but if got an idea on how i could get it I will sure try to do it.

Hope to see you'r post here soon

Peace-Warrior!

You could buy me a D3 and I'll see that "Gordon" gets it.

You could also buy me the 1D and then when Gordon next comes to the UK he could borrow it for a couple of days, do his review, post it on YouTube sounds like a good idea to me Zorro gets his Flagship Nikon and I get the Canon
If Gordon could not get to the UK I am sure that Zorro and I could do some sort of Video Review

Hahahahaha... Funny guys  ! But i think you are enough brilliant to know that I'm not rich :( and if Iwould have all this money Iwould not ask for a review and I'll buy them right now. But still, if you are able to put your hand under some of these camera it would me cool!
PS: How much cost an Leica M8?

.
About the same as a Canon EOS 1D Mark III plus a Canon EF 24-105mm f4L IS USM lens. In other words, too much.

Leica say that the M8 is a "future proof investment" (here). Absolutely true but the cost of their current M8 Upgrade Service isn't for the faint of heart either! That costs almost as much as a Canon EF 16-35mm f2.8L USM mkII lens!!

Hey, if I had the cash I'd splash but as I don't I won't.

Bob.

I wouldn't spend that much dosh either, even if I did have it to begin with. It's still true today that the three best pictures I've ever taken were shot with a cheap compact.

Couple of days Roy? I wish the reviews I did were that quick! We're talking weeks not days here...

But sure thing, once I've had it for a couple of weeks, you could have it back!

You should review a Hassleblad H3D while your at it :P

That would be a nice camera to get to play with (actually finding someone to let it out of their sight for a few minutes might be hard though)

EOS 1Ds mark III is the highest Mega pixels DSLR ever made .. with 21.1MP
D3 Nikon will be the highest Fps full frame DSLR..
Leica M8 is not even a Full frame :S.. but its small..

As far as quality is concerned it will be better and more detailed with Canon in comparison with others..
As far as noise is concerned you may not be able to recognize it..

as far as the ranking is concerned

1. 1Ds mark III
2. D3
3. Leica M8

here you go..

personally i have tried 1D mark III and 1Ds mark III but in a store.. :P just to show my interest i had it in my hands and took some picture's .. i just loved em.. :D
