1) Make a criteria to help voters decide where to place their sole vote. E.g. place a panel saying "50% Quality of Image, 50% Suitability to theme".

2) Make a judging panel e.g. the past 5 On Assignment winners, and give them 10 votes or something (But I've a feeling this forum can't do that, not cameralabs' fault)

I haven't voted as I don't find it dumb but at the same time i think it can be tweaked a bit.

For #1, I think unconsciously we each evaluate the images with a certain importance put on different aspects and this is often a very personal thing on which putting numbers might be hard.

#2 .. like you said, i don't think could be done ...

I think your thread is really interesting though as more and more people participate in the "On Asssignment" (which is absolutely GREAT !! ) and it's often really hard to choose just one favorite. Another idea (sorry forgot whose it was) was to make a first vote to retain say the 10 most popular and then another one on those finalists only. I think that could work ...

What do others think ?
