 Post subject: BB Code How-To
PostPosted: Sun Feb 10, 2008 6:55 am
I didn't know where to put this, and im not sure if it has been done before bu people are always saying they don't know how or asking how to put [IMG] code in so I thought I'll make a how-to to some of the BB code.

Note: Before I start you do not have to manually type any of this Code in because if you look up a little bit there will be b/i/u/quote etc

Ok first lets talk about [img] code, this is what you use when you want to put a jpeg in from a hosting website. Like this,

Image

As you can see this is the header from the top of the website.

Now how I did this.

First I have my picture link. In this case I had
http://www.cameralabs.com/images/header3.gif
Now I have to use the Code.

You put [img]in%20front%20%20of%20your%20*image%20url*%20and%20you%20put[/img] after your *image url. [img]http://cameralabs.com/images/header3.gif[/img]
Remember no spaces between your *image Url* and your code.

Easier way to do this is Click on the (img) button up the top then you paste your URL then click that button again does it all automatic for you.

Now doing things like Bold and Under lined text is much the same way, but instead of using a Url you are using just normal text ok.

Note: replace { with [ and } with ]

Camera labs As you can see this is in bold, The code is {b} {/b} {b}Camera labs{/b}

Camera labs As you can see this is underlined, The code is {u} {/u} {u}Camera Labs{/u}

Camera labs This one is in bold and it is underlined, Yes you are able to use more than one code to do this I had to {u}{b}Camera labs{/u}{/b}

One last thing, how to shorten a URL.

If you have a url that is like http://canon.com.au/products/visual/cam ... mLens.aspx

You can make it shorter by using [url=*URL*]*Name you want to use*[/url]
(with out the **)

So I can turn http://canon.com.au/products/visual/cam ... Lens.aspx'

Into
Canon 100 to 400mm lens

I hope you have found this Helpful

Hi Marzy, thanks for this!

We have had some sticky posts before showing how to post images, but it's still good to have a reminder elswhere and you've also included some other useufl information.

Thanks again!

PS - I've edited your post to link to our shorter header3.gif which doesn't break the forum frame - hope that's ok!
