Hi everyone
I'm from UK but have been living in south west Turkey for a few years now. Interested in landscapes and ancient ruins. Plenty round here, apart from self. Trying to get the most out of 500d with kit lens. Look forward to learning more through this forum. Frank.

Welcome Frank to the Camera Labs forum! Since you're interested in landscape photography, be sure to check out this month's On Assignment here on Camera Labs, it's themed "Tree".

Hi and thank you All. Bjorn good suggestion and thanks. I've taken a few and am weeding them out. But I must admit failure so far at uploading to submit one. Using Picasa and following the guidance. Should I change to Flickr? Haven't used that much but could it be more straightforward. It's cutting and pasting the ISP code problem. All the best.

It should work just fine with Picasa I imagine. Try to get a link that ends with .jpg (or whatever sort of file you uploaded, usually works by right clicking the image) and paste it in your post, surrounded by [img]and[/img].

July Tree theme

Here is a tree that shelters those who stop to look at the view jut above our house. This is the bay of Selimiye, once known as Losta, and our village runs along the shore. Tree is in every part of our life here, especially in the boats that fill the bay in summer and some of which are built in the boatyards here in the winter. Also the almonds and the olives, the fruit trees etc .....

EOS 500D with 18-55mm lens on 18mm, at 1/50 and f8 and ISO 100

Best wishes
Francis

Frank, the link to photos on Flickr looks like this

http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8405/8690 ... dc65_b.jpg

It needs the full address between [img]_0914jpg[/img]

Click the preview button to confirm it works before submitting.

Cheers

It is not working due to you linking to the Flickr page rather than the photo itself. To fix this, in the Flickr page you linked, click on the share icon. (Looks like this)
Image
Then click where it says "Grab the HTML/BBCode" and then a code will pop up. Be sure that in the bottom of the box, "BBCode" is selected and not "HTML". Then just select it all, copy and paste it here and voila.

Hope it helped :)
