Just bought a Nikon Coolpix P500. I know its a bridge camera, but I thought it was a good starter for a person with lots of interest and little knowledge. Read a few posts on here already, seems like a good place to share info. Look forward to some good advise and seeing some cool pics.
Cheers
Steve

Hi Steve and welcome to the forums!
By the way, I also have a bridge camera only so I can tell you it's a nice way to start out :)

Thanks all.
I've bought a Nikon coolpix p500 for £200 new. So hopefully if I get the bug I'll
Get a camera with a bigger CMOS sensor for less noise, something
I've noticed already.
As soon as the weather breaks I'll get out n about and take some
Pics and get some advise.
For those thinking of buying this camera here are the faults I've found so far.
Poor lighting is difficult with this camera as it doesn't have a very low f number.
Anything over half zoom is useless without something to rest on or a pod.
In the right conditions the picture quality is really good for street action and portrait.
So im quite happy for a starter camera. Love messing around with P A S M modes
