Bonjour Gordon,

The User Reviews forum is very popular and useful. It's part of the charm of Cameralabs :)

However, with so many reviews, mixing different brands (Pentax  , Canon, Nikon, Lowepro, ...) and different kinds of products (body, lenses, bags, tripods, and so on), it isn't that easy to acces and find what one could be looking for.

The sticky post on top of the Pentax forum was very useful on easing the access to all the Pentax related reviews I wrote, which are disseminated on the User Review forum.

Coudn't be nice to have sub-forums under the User Reviews forum, one per kind of products, one for cameras, one for lenses, one for bags, ... :?:

What do you think :?:

Thank you and best regards,

Actually that would be really awesome as of now it's a bit of a mess.

edit: It would also be cool to clean some of them up, for example "Big ultra-wide zoom test" very good review But this review is spread up into heaps of posts it would be good if it was all in one post at the top so if your reading reviews you just look at the first post. Most of them are like this but there is also "I got the SB-600 today: this one is also a good review but it is also spread out and also the name of the post it would be cool if it was just like "sb-600 review" just to make it seem more neat and easier to find reviews. But then again these are only user reviews. I dunno just putting it out there.

Edit:Sorry Edit again but I was also thinking if there was a guide line for people making a review just so they know what to add in there review and so forth.

You can use the Search page to look for a specific product on a specific forum.

EDIT: I've just posted a list of user reviews of Nikon products.

Luis,

Great idea and implementation :)

In the case of Pentax products, the same list exists, not under the User Review forum, but under the Pentax forum.

Isn't that a bit disorienting for would-be readers :?:

Best regards,

Yeah, the 100,000$ question is: Where would a surfer on this forum search for user-reviews of a certain brand?
(1) in the user-revies section?
or
(2) in the respective brand section?

My guess: it's the respective brand-section as there is everything that relates to the brand: reviews, previews, opinions, FAQs, etc.

So I think it's easier to navigate, when all user reviews are moved to the respective brand-section and the overview is put there.

But as mostly with web-related information management: You cannot force all users to think this or that way, so in the end the best solution will be to post the overviews in the brand-section plus the user-reviews section...

I think we should have these sticky lists at the top of BOTH the user reviews section AND the respective manufacturers, thereby covering all bases.

If we have to choose just one place for the stickies though, I'd go for the manufacturer's forums...

Bonjour Gordon and Thomas,

Great :) There are now two solutions to ease the reading of the users reviews :!:

I hope this isn't too much additional work for the administrators :?

Best regards,
