Thanks Leo, Gordon!
Sorry I missed your question Gordon. I guess better late than never.
I kinda fell into cinema actually. Schooled as a computer scientist, when I landed in Japan it was the natural thing for me to begin developing games here. As games began to be more complicated with the advent of 16bit busses, open architectures, and so on I took to importing and wholesaling computers, parts, and software.

Romantic that I am, I specialized in products for/from the fiercest underdog at the time: The Commodore Amiga! My little company became quite large and when the NewTek Video Toaster released television studios became my primary customers. Very quickly it became apparent that they all wanted, needed, and were willing to pay for training in all of the different "Slices" of the Toaster system. That led to very many "odd jobs" in the industry as I met and trained various studio professionals; fully producing television commercials, doing CG "Corners" for network television programs, doing freelance CG and FX for motion picture films, and an 8-year stint simultaneously at several universities teaching many aspects of CG such as FX, Character Animation, Digital Compositing & Matte generation, and so on in applications like LightWave3D, Maya, XSI, Houdini, MotionBuilder, Fusion, Photoshop, and etc.. Eventually I returned to my roots and contributed to the design of the nodal texturing and shading system now used in LightWave 3D. And that was pretty much my last gig.
So there you have it; the last 30 years of my life reduced to a paragraph.

These days I'm just learning everything I can about camera equipment & photography (in the slow lane) and having a lot of fun traveling Japan and taking pictures. Life is good!
