Hi All

I just read earlier today a comparative test of Canon, Olympus, Panasonic, and Pentax dust reduction/removal systems for DSLRs. Unfortunately, I forgot to bookmark it, but the conclusion was very clear: only the Olympus system was effective; the others were terrible. I [u]thought I found the link to this test in one of Gordon's reviews (did I, Gordon?). It's definitely worth checking out, but I couldn't find it again on Google...

Hi Russel, yep, it's interesting to compare anti dust systems because many of them are far from infallible.

As you say, I've found the Olympus system to be most effective, although as discussed in the E-400 review, this may be as much to do with the relatively large distance between the sensor and the filter, than it is to the filter shaking the particles off.

Either way, I've had to go to ridiculous degrees to spot dust on an E-Series DSLR, whereas it's been quite appartent on my Canon and Sony samples to name just two. Maybe I live in a dusty place though!

Thanks for the link to your test, Gordon. Your findings appear to substantiate those for Olympus found in the comparison test I linked to. The findings for the three other cameras are pretty surprising, don't you think?
