Salutations....

My name is David Youngclaus. I live in Florida, just north of Tampa, and have lived here since 84 when I was discharged from the Submarine Service.

I'm a boater, camper, benchrest shooter (gave up hunting), repair antique motorcycles and cars, and camera buff. Not necessarily in that order

I have always been interested in photography, first with the 110's, then the 35mm's (still have an Argus C-44) and now digital.

When I say Interested in photography, by no means am I a pro. No, I'm just an experienced Novice 1st class. A part time picture taker.

I bought a Cannon A-95, point and shoot about 5 or 6 years ago. I loved that Camera. Then the CCM went the way of the Dodo. I looked on line for other cameras and/or reviews on them and found this site.

I'm hard to impress, but the manner the reviews are given and the knowledge base (forums) on this site are 1st rate. After long consideration and bouncing back and forth from site to site, I bought the Nikon D5000 kit along with the 70-300 mm lens, Lightroom 3.3 and some Tiffen filters.

I bought the camera and gear at B&H Camera and mentioned this site. The features of the camera are perfect for my needs and the articulating screen, which I loved on the Cannon, are again present.

So with no further ado, thank you for accepting me as a member.

Thank you Gordon and Janern.

Gordon, what is your monthly assignment? I did a search and nothing stood out.

Also, I apologize that you lost $$...Initially, I did put the merchandise on a wish list from your site and then start to buy through your site. I had some questions and called B&H. While I was on the phone, I killed 2 birds at the same time...

I could give you my order #, and my purchase was, for the most part, because of this site..if they're a stand up Company, you should get your due. Let me know...

Hi David, thanks for your support, but sadly it doesn't work that way - we only receive commission when people click through to the shop in question via the logos on this site. It doesn't work by phone or in person. Not to worry! But next time you're shopping online for anything, please do check out the stores we have on the support us page - there's lots, not just for photographic kit...

Thanks!

PS - the Assignment section is here:
