Hi
I'm a bit confused - where would I post my question about image partial over exposure? I use NIKON D80
Thanks

Hi Benya,

If it's related to a general question about the camera itself, you can pose it in the Nikon section. If it's related to a specific type of image - say a portrait - there is a section for that too.

Both these sections enjoy high traffic.

Cheers :-)

Nikon DSLRs do have a tendency to blow out highlights as the cameras are set up by default to retain as much shadow detail as possible. I usually use -7 exposure compensation in normal lighting conditions. This is not adjustable in full auto mode so use programme or aperture/shutter priority modes.
It is nearly always better to underexpose an image than over-expose as this can be corrected in pp. An over exposed image is beyond redemption.
