I logged in this morning and had the usual highlights showing me the posts I have not read and the sections where the posts were I have not read...

Logged back in again and all of the sections and posts are now showing white as in there are no new posts to read, but I know when I logged out earlier there were quite a few I was going to read later on??

Anyone else experienced this?

Hi AL,

I'm not seeing that. I logged in this morning and the new posts were highlighted as usual. Although a record of what's new for you is stored on the CameraLabs server, so allowing you to access the forum seamlessly from different computers, maybe the change in the forum layout has confused your browser's cache. Might be an idea to clear it.

If the problem persists then let us know. In that case a note of your browser software and operating system used might help.

Bob.

Thanks Bob,

Can you now logout, close your browser and log back in and see if there are still highlighted posts?

When I first logged in it was fine, but then suddenly has cleared them on the second login today.

Will do, though I'll have to wait a while for someone to add a post before I can complete your test.

Completed - it's working fine with new posts highlighted in the usual way: Image

Ah well now you say that, perhaps it is working ok. Although it is definitely different to usual.

1. Say you login to the the forum and the Off Topic section is highlighted

2. You dont go into the section and think I will look later

3. you logout

4. you login

Should the Off Topic section still be highlighted? If so, mine is not working...

No. It's always been the case that when I log off all posts I've not read lose their "new" status.

Bob.

Did you clear your browser's cache as I first suggested?

If the problems persist and as nobody else has yet used this thread to report something similar (though that still might happen) I have to assume this is something peculiar to your own computer. Sorry not to be of more help.

Bob.

Bob, yes I tried that straight away and it made no difference.

It is browser specific as I am using Google Chrome and if I load up I.E it works fine, but not in Chrome.

Weird...

Weird indeed. Given that IE and Firefox are working as expected this would certainly seem to be an issue with Chrome or, possibly more likely, with a Chrome Add-on. Have you installed any recently?

If it works like Firefox you may be able to temporarily disable any add-ons, rather than uninstalling them, if you want to run some tests.

Bob.

No addons installed, its the basic version of Chrome.

Its ok, I will use I.E.

As I say, Chrome was working, so something on my machine has changed...

Thanks Bob for your responses.

AL, if I log in, I see all my unread posts, but if I logout then back in again, it effectively sets them all as 'read' - on my computer anyway. I'm using Firefox.

Thanks Gordon.

I am sure mine never used to do that, but it is now so it seems mine is working correctly now.
